Sakura Wars

This anime takes place in the year 1919 when the world barely survived the first Demon War and the next is about to begin. Conventional weapon won’t cut it, neither will conventional soldiers. Humanity needs the few, the proud, the pure : The Spirit Warriors. This Japanese animation tells us the story about a team that fights the demon. Recruited from around the world, these women are beautiful both inside and out, but can they master their steam powered spirit weapons in time ? This is the world of Sakura Wars.

Saiyuki Reload Gunlock

This Japanese animation is a third season of Saiyuki. In this anime the group must face some of their most deadly challenges yet ! Genzo Maiden Saiyuki Reload

This anime is a second season of Saiyuki (Genzo Maiden Saiyuki) Double Barrel.

In this Japanese animation the legendary Sanzo group continues on the path to saving the world from the revival of Gyumaoh and his demons.

As they travel Goku, Gojyo, Hakkai and Sanzo use their tremendous powers to restore peace to Shangri la. However, there are many who wish for the victory of the dark side. When they arrive at a new village, a demon called Suika approaches the Sanzo party.

Because they don’t sense any evil, they decide to stay the night. Suika sings for the group, which brings bitter memories to mind. Everyone except Goku falls into semi hypnotic state.

Saiyuki Double Barrel

Once, demon kind and man lived together in harmony and peace, but when a band of renegade demons seeks to resurrect a diabolical beast named Gyumaoh, a dark spiritual energy covers the land, ending the peace that existed between man and demon.

This anime revolved around a renegade priest named Sanzo, a monkey king named Goku, a lecherous water sprite and a sympathetic demon. It’s up to this group to stop the resurrection and return harmony to a dangerous land. This Japanese animation reminds me about similar story from “Journey To The West” movie. This movie also tells the story about Chinese legend that include a priest, a monkey king and his magical staff.

Saint Seiya

This anime tells a story about Saint Seiya and his friend journey. Saint Seiya is a mortal from Japan and he has taken it upon himself to train and compete in the battles of the Gods. Obtaining the sacred Saint armor and represented by the all powerful constellation Pegasus, Seiya’s searching for his missing sister and entering the galactic war tournament, fighting to show his ultimate power and establish his place in the ranks of the Saints. Along the way he meets a host of powerful warriors and proves himself in an endless battle. This Japanese animation is one of the classical fighting anime.

Ranma 1/2

Ranma 1/2 is one of the funniest classic anime, the story tells us about martial arts students named Ranma and Akane Tendo. Ranma and Akane have been arranged to be married against their will. To make matters worse, after martial arts training at the magical springs in China, Ranma father is cursed to change into a panda and Ranma is cursed to change into beautiful female whenever doused in cold water. To reverse the curse they have to doused in hot water. A few character in this Japanese animation also have similar fate to change into animal whenever doused into cold water. This anime is highly recommended if you want to watch Japanese animation with light and funny story.

Pokemon Heroes

The story of this anime tells the journey when Ash, Pikachu and friends travel to the Altomare to compete in the annual water race, they quickly find themselves in the middle of an elaborate crime. Master thieves Annie and Oakley have set out to steal the Soul Dew. Soul Dew is a jewel with awesome and dangerous powers that few people fully understand. The Soul Dew is guarded by the sibling Pokemon Latios and Latias who watch over the city. In order to harness the powers of the Soul Dew, Annie and Oakley capture Latios. Ash, Pikachu and Latias are determined to rescue Latios and stop Annie and Oakley from destroying the city, but doing so will mean battling ancient Pokemon and overcoming some of the most difficult obstacles our heroes have ever faced.

Paprika

Paprika is an anime movie directed by Satohi Kon, the story plot starts with a machine that lets therapists enter patients dreams. When the machine was stolen, all hell breaks loose and only one woman seems able to stop it. The woman is a therapist and she has a nickname “Paprika”. Kon is a brilliant director by any standard and as the characters shuttle from dream to dream, from one nightmare to another, Paprika becomes a thrilling tour de force of visual invention. Every frame of this Japanese animation is packed with imagination. This delightful movie is bursting with ideas about Japanese repression, multiple identities and collective dreams.

Neon Genesis Evangelion

In 2000 AD a top secret encounter between an Antarctic expedition and an entity known as an Angel triggered a global catastrophe. The year is now 2015 and the Angels have returned. Shinji Ikari a 14 year old boy of the new earth is summoned by his long estranged father Gendo to an underground city underneath Tokyo 3, where the United Nations research organization known as NERV is stationed. To match the fearsome power of the Angel, NERV has constructed a biomechanical weapon named Evangelion a terrifying monster that young Shinji is destined to pilot. This anime has the best mecha (robot) design and good story. It looks like this Japanese animation also influenced by a bible story, that’s why you will find Angel, Eva (eve) and other name related to a bible story. I don’t like the ending of this series because it’s confusing. I recommended neon genesis evangelion as one of the best mecha (robot) anime.

Magic Knight Rayearth OVA

This anime OVA told the same story as Magic Knight Rayearth series but with a few different character design. The Story is a synopsis of the series from beginning until the final battle between the magic knights, Princess Emerald and Zagato. Zagato is the person who kidnapped and captured Princess Emerald. The ending is a battle of the giant mecha (robot). If you want to know the story after the battle you could watch the Magic Knights Rayearth series. Personally I don’t like the OVA but I like the series and the Manga (Japanese Comic).

Magic Knight Rayearth

This anime told a story about three junior high school girls which are brought together by fate when they hear a voice asking them to save the world. The land that calls them is named Cephiro and the voice belongs to Princess Emerald. She stands as the pillar whose will maintains the peace of this magical world where belief is power. But the peace in Cephiro is now threatened as Princess Emerald is imprisoned and monster begin to invade the peaceful land of cephiro. With her last bit of strength, the princess summons forth the three girls who must fulfill their destiny to become the Magic Knights in the hopes of saving her world. This Japanese animation has good adventure story and character design. The best thing in this anime is the Mecha (giant robot) design.

Love Hina

This anime story revolved around Urashima Keitaro. When Keitaro was a child, he has a little girl friend. When the girl had to move away, the two made a promise to meet each other at Tokyo University when they grew up. Year later, Keitaro has failed his entrance exam twice and his parents refuse to support him any longer. His grandmother gives him refuge and employment as caretaker of her inn, which just happens to serve as a female dormitory. The eclectic group of tenants tease, annoy and berate him to no end. Still, Keitaro won’t ever give up his promise to meet his childhood friend again, even though he can’t remember her name. This Japanese animation has a funny story and character, I recommended this as the funniest romantic comedy anime.

Serial Experiment Lain

Serial Experiments Lain anime draws influence from philosophical subjects such as Reality, Identity and Communication. This Japanese animation series focused on Lain Iwakura an adolescent girl living in suburban Japan and her introduction to the Wired, a global communication network similar to the internet. Lain lives with her middle class family which consist of her inexpressive older sister Mika, her cold as ice mother and her computer obsessed father. The first ripple on the pond of Lain’s lonely life appears when she learns that girls from her school have received an e-mail from Chisa Yomoda, a schoolmate who committed suicide. When Lain receives the message at home, Chisa tell her (in real time) that she is not dead, but has just abandoned the flesh and has found God in the Wired. From then on, Lain is bound to a quest that will take her ever deeper into both the network and her own thoughts.
